Default 2007 H3 and Towing a Toy Hauler

I would like to tow a 2008 Eclipse Stellar TL20LB with the following specs:

Hitch: 750
Axle LB: 3,585
GVWR: 7,500

I would be towing two races quads (760lbs) and riding gear which will put me at about 5,000 with the generator, etc...

I would be towing up some pretty big hills from Orange County to CA desert areas. My gut tells me it is too much weight and I should find another tow vehicle, any thoughts?

all depends on what your looking for...I tow a 22' boat that weighs about that with no problem......I run around 70-75 mph flat and it drops down to around 60 up long grades. I will say one thing there is ZERO rear end squat in the h3...I was highly surprised and impressed with that.

Exceeding the tongue weight concerns me the most. Max is 500 and I would be at 750.

I assume your boat TW is much less.

you can't move the load back some to lessen the tongue weight? I moved my boat back a foot and it took almost 50 pounds off my tongue.

No, the trailer is rated at 750 as is, the quads, etc... would sit in the back.

I am regularly towing a Van with 2 horses (total w=2300kg/+/-5100 pounds) I have no problem.
Going uphill you will notice a significant temp.increase, but it will stabilize and remain within the limit.
If the outside temp is above 30°c you might have a problem.

I really don't see you having a problem, you may notice a slight rear end sag with the increased weight on the tongue but I doubt you'll have any sway issues. I don't see how an empty toy hauler would be that heavy on the tongue anyway....that's alot of weight for an empty trailer, I assume rated for means that's it's capable of up to 750 lbs tongue....load weight and positioning will change the tongue weight of the trailer. moving the load to the rear will put the weight over the trailers axles and will actually take weight off of the tongue. Moving the load up towards the front will add weight to the tongue. If you put the quads over the trailer axles I highly doubt you'll be at 750 lbs tongue....my car trailer is at that weight and it's a 30' enclosed hauler.
