Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it the AAI-GM12 (12 pin) or AAI-GM24 (24 pin)unit that worked with your Monsoon system? I pulled up the link, but it gave a number of choices - I am guessing it is one of these two models that work.

Check this link out below. It intergrates with the factory radio and lets you use you mp3 or whatever. You dont lose any factory controls and better yet no station to tune to. I have one in my H3 and it works and sounds creat with my MP3..

Providing and update -
Finally got some time to do something on this (I did a job relocation recently)
I went to a couple of local install shops and they both thought the I-Simple would work. Because one shop was willing to beat my online price I said go for it.
Short story is it did not work with the I-Simple. However, to be fair, it could have been with the harness they used. They used the PGHGM5 harness which specifically mentioned online that it would not work with the Monsoon. They explained there was no other harness available with the I-Simple (PXAUX) that would work (24 pin).
I am going to consider other suggestions in this thread and also might just decide to get an aftermarket that provides backup/DVD features. I like the look of the original and wanted to stick with that. I might be too critical of sound quality loss on the FM Modulator solution and may give that a chance also before I go the aftermarket unit route.
Anyhow, I am providing this information just in case someone else goes this route with the I-Simple so as to let them know it did not work for me (save them the hassle).

i can tell u that a cheap fm plug in-cigar lighter type worked fine. it takes a thumb drive.
id like a direct audio adapter but im not going to pay the price of a radio to get it.
the fm "wireless" was walmart,,abt 30 bucks, tuneable, etc
sounds better than some fm stations!

I have a 08 H3 with Monsoon, 6 CD factory radio, here is what I did to add iPod, Aux and Sirius...
Sirius:
SIR-GM1 Sirius Connect Unit
USA SPEC PA15-GM, this also has the AUX port.
XM1 is for iPod, with Preset 6 being AUX
XM2 is Sirius.
The AUX port I ran to one of the open small circle spaces on dash next to the power plugs. It looks perfect. It can also be run to glove box or center storage if you want. The center storage lower part is where my iPod plug is.
Everything works like a charm. I bought everything and had Best Buy mobile installers install it, they charged $99 for it all to be installed. I had to call USASPEC tech support with them though to explain hookups, but that went real easy. I bought the equipment online.
