Yep, done that. Didn't change the temp guage a single mark. Waste of $$$

Called Jet Performance and they said that is normal for temp guage not to reflect a change - but I am not sure if aI buy into that.

THE ONE I ORDERD WILL BE HEAR TO DAY.. WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.. STOCK IS 197DEG.

 

If you are going to change your stat, you should get the computer programed for it.

 

On my SS with H/C I swapped the factory 180 for the JET 160 and it dropped about 10 degrees. I never went over 200 even driving it in the georgia summer heat at the track , I did reprogram the computer as well however.

 

JUST FOUND OUT STOCK IS 187DEG.. O WELL.... MINE HAS NEVER GOT TO 200DEG YET.. SO I WILL LEAVE IT ALONE... THANKS, ANDY

 

I had a Dodge durango and the Stock one was 180 degrees.I went and bought a 160 Degree Tstat and it did not drop the temp. I thought it would be great for the summer when I am towning the boat and sitting idle at theboat ramp after long hard hauls. In fact it was a pain in the a$$. The computer is dumps more gas into the enginee do get the temp to its stock operating temp. Therefore the getting a colder TStat is not only an initail waste of money but its costs you more to role down the road. I went from getting 11.5mpg in my Durango to 9mpg when I did this. If the computer can be changed to match it great. But I have learned my lesson on this with Computerized engines.
