Default 13th trip to dealer!

Cant get TPM light to stop going on, dealer resets, and eventually comes back on, says "Service TPM"and round icon flashes then stasys on. Tryed Filling to 38-40 psi and still comes on. Anyway dealer can tell of bad tire sensor? Have 285 Duratracs.

How old is it? Demand that they're replaced at this point, that many trips is absolutely insane.

You probably just have a bad one, or a battery dying, demand the dealer replaces them I'd be in the showroom screaming by the fourth trip.......

Patience of a saint is what you have.

Also make sure you check your spare. It has a monitor on it too...My light never goes off either, but the pressure is fine, so I just ignore..

What year is your H3? It is very possible that your spare tire is causing the problem. In 06, all spares had sensors in them. The sensor is interfering with the other 4 tires causing inaccurate signal to the computer. That throws the TPM light. I believe somewhere during 07 GM stopped putting sensors in the spare.

This may be questions for the Tech working on your H3..

Do the tire pressures (as measured with a tire pres. gauge) match the scan tool readings of the tire pressures? Also, check to see if the correct tire size and pressure are stored in the TPM data.

I had a 04 Yukon that came back about 4 times until I discovered that the wrong pressures had been selected/stored in the TPM data. We had to raise the pressures above recommended specs and manually lower them into specs before it accepted them. Also the vehicle has to be driven for about 8 miles after the reset procedure before the light will go off.

Also ask the tech to pull the GM bulletin about the 285 tires, it basically states the dueller tires are the cause because of their design, and requirement of 35 psi, compared to the non adventure package tires which require 30 psi, and they must be set cold, because a 20 degree drop in temperature will cause a 2 psi drop in tire pressures and trigger the light.

Another option I have seen available is resetting the tire pressure monitor message to a lower trigger point. You would have to enter the tpm screen with the tech2 and reset it to a lower pressure.

Hope this helps. feel free to call if you have any questions, I will search for the GM bulletin on the 285 tires. If I find it I will post it.

Another question for your tech...

GM has a bcm (Body Control Module) software update in tis to "improve bcm handling of tire monitor system". Has he completed this update? This seems to fix this problem.

I had that issue as well after installing my 33's took it back to the place i got them and they reset them multiple times with no luck worked for maybe 5-10 miles. I fixed it by doing this:

The TPMS sensor matching procedure is
outlined below:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON with the
engine off.
3. Turn the exterior lamp switch from AUTO to
ON four times within three seconds. A double
horn chirp will sound and the TPMS low
tire warning light will begin to flash. The
double horn chirp and flashing TPMS warning
light indicates the TPMS matching process
has started. The TPMS warning light should
continue flashing throughout the matching
procedure. The SERV TPM message will be
displayed on the Driver Information
Center (DIC).
4. Start with the driver’s side front tire.
5. Remove the valve cap from the valve cap
stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by
increasing or decreasing the tire’s air pressure
for 10 seconds, then stop and listen for a
single horn chirp. The single horn chirp should
sound within 15 seconds, confirming that
the sensor identification code has been
matched to this tire and wheel position. If you
do not hear the confirming single horn
chirp, you will need to start over with step
number one. To let air-pressure out of a tire
you can use the pointed end of the valve cap,
a pencil-style air pressure gage, or a key.
6. Proceed to the passenger’s side front tire,
and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
7. Proceed to the passenger’s side rear tire,
and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
8. Proceed to the driver’s side rear tire, and
repeat the procedure in Step 5.
9. After hearing the confirming horn chirp
for the left rear tire, check to see if
the TPMS warning light is still flashing.
If it is, turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
If the TPMS warning light is not flashing,
the five minute time limit has passed and
you will need to start the process
over beginning with Step 1.
10. Set all four tires to the recommended air
pressure level as indicated on the Tire
and Loading Information label.
11. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems.

Hope that helps it fixed my issue
