Default 10

I purchased 4 of the Lightforce 240 HID lights. I wanted to put them on the front of my 08 H2. Problem is this. I purchased a light bar that mounts to the tow hook mounts in the front from Hildebrandt USA and once lights are on the bar, you cannot open the hood all the way. The lights hit the chrome 2 tier brush guard I have on. I also bought the mount from Randy Ellis Designs that mounts to the same spot where the brush guard mounts. That one wont allow you to mount these lights. The lights are too close together and too close to the grille.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do so?

---Jay

P.S. Who else is here in Pittsburgh on here as well?

The 4 hids on the front bar could be achived by extending the tabs forward, or bracketts forward to aquire the distance for the HID's.........and raising the hood......

Do you have a Picture of it????

The pictures I have on our site with Rod Hall's H1/H2/H3..at the Baja 1000.....have the 4 HID,s on the bar......on the Front......but for Racing Only Pictures........

If you go to our web site (Listed below) andgo toProduct Info..... hit Keiths On/Off Road and go to bottom of page for the Pictures.........

I currently have 4 XGT's (same size as HID,s) on the Roof......of our H2 and 170's on the push Bar......

Nothing is on the vehicle now since nothing fits. I saw that photo. When I heard about the lights - I was in Australia a few months ago. I decided hmmm.. I like these. So I bought 4 of the 240 HID's in 50w version with crystal blue combo lenses to snap on and I also bought 5 of the 35W HID ones with 5 snap on IR lenses. They gave me a heck of a deal out there at $700 per light with lenses thrown in. I just boxed them and shipped them back to me in PA. There just has to be some way to mount these on the truck so they do not block out the factory headlamps OR block the air flow into the engine. Thats the last of my worries since I need the cooling since we are in the middle of installing an ATI Procharger in the 2008 H2 (the former year kits work - just have to send your pcm in to be programmed by a 3rd party and install 50lb injectors) It just may come down to me fabricating and powdercoating a revised version of the Hildebrandt bar.

Almost forgot - how did you mount your 240's to the factory cross bar? I was going to buy the XTC (Plus 1) dummy cross bar and mount it that way. Can they fold down at all on yours?

I used the mounting bracket that came with the light bar, simply took off the stock Hummer light and Installed these (XGT's) in there place, they will fold back 1/2 way, just enough for that tree limb or parking Garage.............and there tough....

There easy to remove with a Hex wrench........can remove all 4 in about, 5 mins......

4 Millon candle watts on the roof, No reflection on the Hood and can see about21/4 miles of open road at night, light up road signs in daytime for about 1 mile...

With your HID's you supposed to be able to read a Newspaper at 3 miles with them on.........

Nice Reading Light.....LOL

Some newer homes around here, with Garages the H2 wont fit without any bar or Lights........there Idea of a double car Garage is 2 Mini-Coopers.......What a Joke

I am selling this light bar in the classifieds now. I am aggravated. Here is the problem I am running into. There is NO WAY the Lightforce 240 HID's will fit on here - especially 4.
Rick, did you just use the factory cross bar for the lights? If so where can I locate the mounts to put 4 of the lights up top? Am I better off with the XTC (Plus 1) light bar that doesnt have lights installed in it but drilled for aftermarket ones? Let me know. I am just going to put all 4 of these on the roof.

Well - today I installed 4 of the Lightforce 240 HID lights on top of a factory light bar. Removed the factory Bosch lights and the wiring earlier in the week (dwaxman1 I sent you the harness as well). Installed the new lights using a Lightforce heavy duty wiring harness. Used a factory waterproof connector for removal of the bar. Wired the inside of the truck with the Lightforce harness. Installed the switch in the overhead console. Also installed a hidden Opticom 492 Emitter (Google search it) Thats to make being stuck in red lights a snap ;-)

I will post pics as soon as I am done with this. Took 5 hours (with watching tv in between) to install the lights onto the bar and rewire/loom/solder/heatshrink it all.

Looks awesome. Interested in selling any of the stock bosch lights? I'd sure like to purchase a couple. Thanks.
