06 H3 won't start / even not crank
Good morning,
i need your help! My '06 H3 won't even crank if i try to start. It began intermittent, but after a retry she fired up and ran without any problems.
Last time the passlock light was constantly on, but the truck ran. Since then only one of about 20 tries starts the truck. The starter is o.k.. With a extra wire from the battery it cranks without any trouble.
The relay #78 works and ist pulled when the key is turned on "start", but the engine does not crank. The solenoid of the starter gets no current...
The Driver Power window even not worked, but after a night at the battery charger it works again.
Can it be the result of a bad battery? Or do you have any ideas?
Please help.....
Edit: Relay #77 is not engaged by the pcm, if i bypass it, the starter begins to crank.
Seems to be the security system or not?
Thank you,
Jens

Here is the order of how I would approach your problem:
1) Crappy OEM Battery Terminal Connectors (if you still are using the factory connectors you have set yourself up for this eventual issue);
2) Battery at end of life or bad;
3) Passlock issue.
There is a reason why there are 100s of posts here and at other forums telling people to get rid of the factory battery terminal connectors and swap them out for a quality aftermarket set ... like Stingers for example. Intermittent voltage changes, especially when the vehicle is off and not occupied, trigger a number of problems, including security protection. So #1 is a cheap fix to rule out a bunch of potential problems.

Hello,
good news!!!
She runs again...
I cleaned the ignition switch, it was full of a mixture of grease and dust.
(By the way... it's a pita to reassemble the switch with the springs and *****.)
During this time the truck was hooked on the battery charger again...
After i put everything together, she fired up immediately.
Power windows are working...everything fine again.
I will get a new battery and new batteryterminals next year....
Thank you for your replies.
I wish you a happy new year!!!!

Question to JENS
What did you use to clean out your ignition switch?
I replaced the battery 2/13/14.
Replaced ignition switch 1/9/12 and
Body Control Module replaced 6/30/10.
Crank Relay fuse replaced 1/26/15
Our 2009 H3 will not start today. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
