04/06 mpg?

Ok fuel Gru ru!
Shes a 2006 6.0. Cat is gone. Tires are aired up. Third seat and excess weight has been taken out. I run BP gas. Running 60mph down at the beach flat area cruising is 17 to 18. I pulled over and took my picture which is listed above.
Basically what I am seeing with my H2 in that 55 to 60mph range, it is getting 17 to 18. Running 75 to 80 is dropps off bad to 14-15. In town it is 12-14.
Thats the deal. If it upsets you im sorry! Thats just the numbers when you crunch the math with a calculator and ignore the readout. Its close but not accurate.

ya something is wrong either with your DIC, or whatever math you are using.
that is not accurate. im not saying you are purposely posting false info, im just saying it is wrong, and most likely not possible.
if you reset the avg milage counter, and post another shot, it would be helpful, but i would still be hesitant abou tit as that can easily be tricked.
with the 4sp tranny, you are not going to get 18 mpg. end of story.
i will add this....
alot does depend on your driving style. so, if you are real light on the gas, and do alot of "hyperdriving" also called "Hyper miling"
basic mpg saving techniques, but also some other tricks like shifting in to neutral when your going down hills, and coasting as much as possible.
ya i could see your mpg being better, but then again, it goes back to the DIC showing flawed data.

Yes, you confirmed that I was correct. You can only get 17 to 18 "down at the beach flat area". This is not a consistant long term average. This is 10 minutes or 20 minutes driving at a specific location or two (that area probably doesnt even have stoplights from your description.) I can drive for 10 minutes and show you an average of 30mpg if I found the perfect location all downhill.
So once again: 17 to 18mpg is NOT POSSIBLE in an h2 for consistant days worth of driving, a long term average, not 20 minutes. 20 minutes means nothing
You shouldnt go around telling people on this forum you can get 17-18mpg (consistantly over months of time) and then have people go out and buy an h2 because they think they can get 18mpg

I dont lie to people to get them to buy. Whats the point in that?
I am sorry your upset about it. 17 to 18 is POSSIBLE. Sorry if it makes you upset.

honestly, dont know what to say really that has not alreayd been said.
if what you are saying is true that you are basing the 18 mpg off of a short trip, honestly, it is common sense that it should not have even been brought up.
let the people who have 10000+ miles or more speak up. i promise you on a 03 to 06 model, they will not be above 14 mpg. most of them are prolly going to be under 10 or 11 mph.
you can go on believing that you are getting 16+ on your H2, your the one paying your own gas bill, not me.. so whatever makes you feel better.

Honestly,
That has little to do with it. I'm just trying to let others know that they can't get 17 - 18 mpg for more than 10 minutes. I can get 99mpg in my h2 going down a hill in neutral. I'm not trying to fight with you, lets just let it go already.

When I am down at the beach running down the highway for over an hour she hovers at 17-18. Yes consistently 18 is not happening over the WHOLE trip but for that hour thats the fuel mileage.
Actually the type of fuel has A TON to do with it. With ethanol you will lose mileage. Places that ran 10% with conventional gas made all of my vehicles drop 2mpg.
The BP's here in our state run raw gas which makes up for that. I amk just saying there are provisions I do to make it happen.
Alot of cheap fuel places are running 20% ethanol and that will really hurt it.
Thats just the deal here with my truck. If I ride around town all day.....oh yea its going to say 11.
I was upset when you said I lie to people to get them to buy a H2.
If you need to know any of my mileage numbers then read the previous posts. Thats the deal and its happening!
