04/06 mpg?

...then you don't want a full size SUV...no flame intended.
I've been getting 13-14 on highway 65 on cruise. Once I get off the highway and start normal street driving and driving like a normal person I am getting 10-11 MPG.
I think the H3 i5 is better maybe high teens, but not a mileage queen either...
Heavy vehicles, built sturdy with large engines just don't get good MPG, period.
Cheers,

I get about 9.5-10. Not sure on highway. If you want to calculate --- Hummer states the tank is 32gallon capacity
A drive from San Jose, CA to Santa Barbara, CA is about 4hours give or take 10 minutes. I drove once from SJ to SB on ONE full tank at 65-75MPH. On my DIC my range states I could go for another 20. Also the light when on as I neared the SJ borderlines. The trip is ~285 miles. Every hour I drove, it goes down by 1 tick (H2 have 4 ticks on the gauge) so about 8 gallons lost per hour on HWY driving. Thats just my experience!

If you get an 08 or 09, they get even better still! 2 overdrives help out on the highway. I've never taken my 08 H2 on the highway really, but I'm getting 600 km per tank in the city, when the light comes on (sort of half and half, lots of freeways here) whatever that works out to in MPG. 105 Liters to fill when the light comes on, around 27.7 Gals, maybe 13.5 US MPG? It is winter and I'm letting it idle to warm up more and it's fun to find deep snow banks to drive through, so I'm not getting the best mileage right now, but I still love it!

on a good day you "Might" get 14 mpg, but honestly, your realistic mpg is going to be from 10 to 12 mpg.
if your worried about a $2.50 per gallon price tag on gas, then dont even think of a H2.. any year... the fact you are worried about gas prices in the first place should tell you that this most likely isnt the vehicle for you.
it sounds harsh, i admit it, but its the truth. ya i bitch every single time i fuel up my H2, but i didnt buy the H2 for its good fuel saving attributes.....
one other thing, if you like to modigy your vehicle.. tires, performance mods or whatr not, dont expect your MPG to go up or even stay the same. i have a 03 with 37 inch tires, and a K&N CAI and i get 10 mpg city, and maybe 11 on highway.
a full tank of gas, completly full gets me a little over 300 milage range according to the DIC.

most people will get is the 14 mpg.. that is on the highway too...
before you say " i have a Duramax" too, make sure you also put int he same sentence the price you paid for that too. just the install without engine or parts will run you about the 12k range.. 5k more and you can buy a 03 H2 easily.
sorry to sound like a sour puss and all, but with the OP worried about gas prices and MPG with a H2, he shouldnt be told false info to try to get him into a H2 when it is clear he most likely will not be happy with it ( from the gas MPG point of view)

sorry, but i have to ask what have you done to your rig then... out of ALL the hummer forums and people i have read/talked to.. noone gets 17 to 18 mpg.. except you...... unless you are driving a H3???
