My 03 H2 tailgate will not open, Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a hard fix? Any help would be great, Thanks Kyle

 

Wow..I just joined this site yesterday and its like I am reading all about the different problems that I have had with my '03....this WILL SOUND REDICULOUS however..the locking tabs on each side of the gate are stuck...this is how I opened mine so I could work on it..firm punch to the license plate followed by one to each side of the tail gate while someone pulls the handle to open it...I promise it works!!..then just lube the locking tabs and you should be go..mine has worked like a charm for 6 months!

 

I'd just like to add: that is how I fix almost EVERYTHING. Works like a charm.

 

haha yea...I will admit to being not entirely sober when we came up with this method..but I have witnesses and a functioning rear gate to prove it!
