'01 H1 radiator leak
Hi,
Low coolant light came on and after inspecting found a small leak along the top of the radiator.
Anyone had a similar leak and can/should it be repaired or replaced?
If replace is the option, anyone done this by themselves?
Thanks,
Rob

RE: '01 H1 radiator leak
can it be repaired? yes.... the only issue is that to get it fixed you will have to take the radiator out and take it into a local radiator shop....
you MIGHT get away with taking the truck in there and having them fix it on the truck, likely they won't but it would be worth a try...

Where is the leak? On the tank or the tubes/cores?
If it is on the tank (assuming metal tank) you might be able to get away with a drop of solder. If the tank is plastic, you can try JB weld. It works.
If it is on the core, then you'll either have to remove the tank.
OR try a product like Alumaseal, it works very well and I've never had an issue with it. In fact, it was SOP for me to drop a tube into my 65 mustang anytime I rodded out the radiator (every ~18 months due to block scaling). I did this for 12 years and 2 engine rebuilds and I only positive experiece with Alumaseal.
