I used Gunk engine degreaser (regular) and their engine bright. I did use a paint brush in some areas but most all just rinsed off with water hose, not high pressure and not a lot, then the engine bright. Follow the directions. I then drove for about 30 minutes to get rid of any water pockets. I made the mistake of not getting rid of water pockets on my Avalanche and ruined (rust) the knock sensors in the valley under the intake manifold.

Not sure why one would use a tire product on their engine, but no I didn't. I don't use any dressing on my tires or wheels. Just wash and rinse them.

PSA I think you may want to look at before you start cleaning your engine bay or anything aluminum for that much.
