What brushguards do you prefer?
#16
How solid are the genuine GM items????
Thinking about one of these at the moment, as the ARB one seems to require a lot of modifications to components of the vehicle, ie cutting, drilling and grinding. And the fit still does not seem good, with strange gaps and not correctly fitting sump guard and exposed brackets.
I prefer a bolt on fit, so it can be undone later if I choose to do so.
Photos of genuine brush guards fitted would be nice as well

Here's my take on the more commonly available brushguards:
GM OEM - for looks only, weak and vibrates.
Aries - looks like OEM but is much better made. Costs much less than OEM too.
Steelcraft - strong and well made. Has additional bracing that attaches to existing bolts in grill. rock solid, no vibration, priced less than OEM
Predator - strongest, very well made, most expensive but shop around, prices vary, don't buy from the bling sites. There are 2 models, the HD and the S&R (search & rescue). The S&R is more expensive than the HD.
All of these are bolt on that utilize the bolts of the tow loops to mount. They sandwich between the loop base and the bumper.
Any of these brushguards can be installed in about 20 minutes and removed in less time.
