Default What is the best type of Winch to purchase for the HUMMER H3?

I own a HUMMER H3 and would like to accesorize it when I get my 09 tax return mula. I am shopping for a Roof Rack that I can attach some off road lights to and aslo a reliable Winch. Please support your answers as I am in the market for good quality, not nessisarily the cheapest option. thanks

Winch? HUMMER's dont need no stinkin winch!

hehe but seriously get some good tires. Most of the time you wont need a winch with nasty tires, unless your recovering some poor Jeeper.

Warn makes great winches for these trucks. There are even great front bumper/winch combo's out there for us.

Uhh yea if you wheel you actually do need and want a winch unless you want the jeep hauling you out at some point. I've used mine many times and I have good tires.
Just about any major winch manufacturer makes one that will work for you. I'm not a fan boy of any particular brand as long as it works and fits the budget.
My last one was a superwinch, simply because it was on sale and they gave me free synthetic line, fairlead and free shipping.

Obviously that was a poor attempt at humor. But seriously the ONLY times I've been stuck with my STOCK 32" Wranglers are when I KNEW i was gonna get stuck going into a less-than-desirable situation.

With some GOOD tires, such as some 33" (or if your a "baller" 35") duratracs, I'm confident I'd NEVER get stuck.

Of course a winch is good backup.

But so is a long-*** ****** strap.

I'm planning on getting a winch that has a wireless remote and is waterproof

I've always been a fan of removable, receiver-mounted winches myself.

Screw the winch. Just crank the T-bars and get a pair of those tasty Air Jordans.

85_305 actually does have a good point. If you have not yet upgraded to some more aggressive tires, you might consider that instead of, or in addition to your mods.
