I just had a LiftMaster 8500W installed, and I could not get the H3 connected to the GDO. Chamberlain support said if the vehicle was made before 2012 I'd have to by a HomeLink repeater device.

Security+ 2.0. I stopped installing Chamberlains:Craftsman/Liftmaster years ago. Currently installing Genie Alladin Connect + all wireless remote controls.

I never use that built in remote Garage Opener stuff, my truck is outside on the driveway 24/7/365 and I never leave any remote opener in it over night. I do not want scuzz-bags busting my window to open the garage. Pretty common knowledge that criminals look for those, bust in your vehicle then open your garage door to see if anyone is home/awake. Then redistribute your stuff.........

I have a 25 year old LiftMaster and can control that with my phone from anywhere via two independent systems, one with a camera to record every open and close.

You just got me checking HomeLink, and research shows it's still active with ignition off. So,what's the purpose?
I leave my 3 in the driveway, unlocked, and have the G1T-BX 1-Button Remote that is small and inconspicuous.
I also installed motion detector led lights on the house/garage, and if the GDO opens, I installed motion detector led FLOOD PANEL lights inside,+GDO monitoring to my cell. I live in a safe neighborhood, yet anything can happen, anywhere. The best part about my recent purchased fixer upper home(now sealing/painting exterior, between rainy days; upper level next), is that the garage door doesn't face the street, and my visually impaired wife can pull her GMC in/out without damaging my 3!

As a newbie, trying to overcome buyer remorse! My question is there anything about this year/model I sb aware of?

You are posting in the H3 Section to inquire about H2/H2SUT information. Do ya think that might be odd???????????

Forget thread jacking and ask your New Question(s) in the H2 or H2 SUT section where others that actually own one or more, shopped for them, and maintained them can answer your questions.
