Default Transmission wont shift out of park

Does anyone have any ideal of what the problem might be. The shifter is stuck in the park postion, the shifter release button is really hard to press

Yes and thanks, I found it, just a loose connection. Corrected the problem and now everything is working.

Had checked that earlier today. Looks fine but neutral safety switch on tranny (inhibitor switch) may be bad. Only say that because key doesn't remove when vehicle rolls forward a bit once in park. If I park on level ground key sporadically sticks and I have to restart engine, engage tranny, keep foot on brake, turn off engine and key then will releases to full off position Park does engage with no problem. Do u know if the problem with shifter can be caused by this going bad? Would that cause the low voltage issue I described earlier?

Welcome to HF. Unfortunately you did NOT LOOK how OLD this thread was when asking your question and none of those people are here any longer to answer. Like as in last posted in during 2016.... EIGHT YEARS AGO. READ: Old Threads/'Necro-Bumping'

Look up "neutral safety switch", search it here, if you still cannot figure it out, ask your question in a New Thread in the vehicle (H3 questions go in the H3) section.
