Default Snow Plow for H3

Does anyone know where I could find a snow plow for a H3? I have checked all the major manufacturers: Western, Fisher, Meyer, Blizzard.

Someone must make one, but heard the H3 front end frame is too weak.

Yeah I dont think I would want to plow any snow with an H3. I would not even want to do it with my H2Not only is it super hard on your frame and suspension but think about your tranny as well.

The frame is plenty strong, like bull. The truck is already as heavy as an elephant, powered by an aluminum mouse wheel. The sheilded front does not lend itself to plow mounting, hydraulic/electric controls and power. Get a snow blower for your personal use, buy a 4X4 3/4 pickup truck if you gotta plow snow.

There is a reason nobody is making such a plow.

Thanks for the comments...like the overblown snowblower. I have a snow truck but wanted something for the Hummer to push the parking lots during the day.

I did find a welder locally that is trying to modify a new Fisher blade mount. I will post the findings...

Glad to see someone wanting to work one of these beasts. I know the frame is as tough as nails but as stated, the engine leaves a lot to be desired. The H3 uses a Hydra-Matic 4L60 which is a pretty good juice box. It's the same tranny used in the GMC Yukon XL which is a big beast too. See http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en...32_MD6_M70.doc for complete engine and trans specs, including the Asin 5 speen manual trans.

I personally think it would handle the plow quite well and I thiink the reasonvery few companiesmake tough stuff for the H3 is because they have this Soccer Mom image to overcome first. When more people work these trucks and off road them then the image will begin to change, or until the Soccer Moms find something else to make them feel tough. HUMMERs advertising last year didn't help matters on bit to overcome the image but in time people will see that these trucks are NOT mall rated but good off road ready for work trucks.

good post RJ...the tranny and frame are fine on the h3 There is one company that makes a plow for the h3...it was posted here last year...sorry but I can't remember what company it was but try doing a search. Plow setups have come a long way in recent years, the new ones are so well dampened that they are not hard on the tranny or frame at all...they aren't solid mounts anymore folks. Christ, if people can plow with 4 banger Jeep wranglers than the h3 will have zero problems!
