Signal lights Problems
Good Day guys!!!
I am new to this forum.
I got my hummer h3 2006 black since 2 months now, and I did few upgrades:
- Goodyear Kevlar Wrangler tires 305/70R16
- Bilstein 5100 Shocks
- CB Antena and mount
I am so happy with my truck but I have a problem with my signal lights.
when driving during the day and lights are off, signals works just fine.
when I drive night time and the headlights are on signals won't work and sometimes I noticed that when I put the right signal on I have the left one that is working.
this only happens when I have my headlights on.
also when I try to use my high beam light I notice the fog light dimming.
N.B: I have aftermarket HID head lights
thanks in advance.

1. fog lights turn off when you engage the Hi Beams on the H3.
2. Try putting the old bulbs back in and see if it changes.
3. Might want to check the harness between the rear bumper and the frame. Accessible from underneath the H3. Just under the rear door on the hinge side. Sometimes the insulation will rub off some of the wires and cause some KRAZY WEIRD stuff to happen to the lights, signals, etc.

Hey man,
Thanks for the tip
Went quickly to the truck, removed the plastic molding of the rear bumper and accessed the harness you told me about. It seems like new but I mingled with it a bit and checked my signals and now working just fine... this is really amazing... noticed the earth location on the chassis is rusted, I guess I will sand it tomorrow and put it back... maybe that is also an issue
Anyway thanks and will keep u posted

As Tainter said, the fog lights automatically turn off when you turn on high beam-with the stock wiring. But...there is no telling how the HID system was set up, so...
