Default Rear Diff Locker Wires Cut

Hey everyone. Please forgive me for creating a new thread on my first day but all the searching and trolling didn't help.

I recently bought a 06 H3 and I absolutely love it. But earlier today I saw some wires dangling underneath it near the rear of the vehicle. I crawled under it when I got home and saw 2 wires going in to the rear diff had been cut.

The wires going towards the front have been soldered together along with what appears to be a resistor. The wires coming out of the diff aren't connected to anything in anyway. The light on the dash lights up without hesitation to indicate the locker is engaged but that can't be possible.

It appears that the previous owner intentionally disabled the locker. Why in the world would anybody do such a thing. Any help in this strange matter would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome. I'll be looking around to get that info today. The question still remains as to why somebody would cut those wires in the first place.

Do you have (1) black wire and (1) Light Green wire?

If the locker is broke or fubared, then you disconnect it and put in a fake loop for the light on the dash so when you off it to the next guy he/she is none the wiser.

@Bunger:
The wires i saw back there are both solid white. No stripies or any other feature that may indicate polarity.

@DocOlds:
Well isn't that nice of them. I'll probably not touch anything and take it in for service. I bought an extended warrentee that covers engine, drivetrain, all diffs Etc.

I was just curious as to why this had been done at all.
