Read If Your H3 Radiator Has Cracked or Leaked

I was less than 20 days out the powertrain warranty when my radiator failed. The person working the case indicates that it doesn't matter how many people have or have not received assistance in this situation as it is handled case by case when there isn't an open recall/campaign regarding the break. I think this will be the last GM product I ever own...
A radiator is not a wear and tear consumable part...

Add me to the list. 101k and GM is refusing to do the work for less than $850. Sewell Dallas has tried to elevate and has got to the regional level. They are still saying no. Anyone willing to PM me their ref. number so I can show GM that it has been done before?

GM isn't willing to do anything to assist. Told me I could write a letter to complain but that there was no one to escalate it to beyond the point I was at.

GM is refusing assistance for me as well. My truck started to overheat yesterday morning, so I had to call the dealer to get towed in. My hands were tied at that point. Still waiting for a GM call back, and I needed wheels.
Had to authorize fix. With tow, cost me $938. Then, I got a call back from GM stating they would not help. I said they had better leave my claim open, and have a manager call me back. That request was to a regional manager. So, now I am waiting on a call back from a regional manager's manager. Starting to sound like The Office.
I am over 101,000 miles and they keep telling me "we stand behind our warranty", which ran out for me at 50,000 miles.

After replacing my radiator, I added an nice finned aluminum transmission cooler. It has dropped the coolant temp by about 10* and it dropped the trans temp too.

I want to thank egroegart for his breakdown of the steps to follow in order to address the radiator issue. Discovered my leak on Sunday, spoke with GM on Monday and repair has been completed at no charge today. I have been using the same dealer and mechanic since purchasing my 2007 H3X. Not sure if it was the dealership or GM but they took care of the issue.

That tranny cooler looks great. It looks like the mounting holes line up pretty good with the holes in the grill, a couple of long bolts, large diameter washers and maybe some spacers between the grill and the cooler mounting tabs and you are good to go!

I have an 06 with about 101000 miles...
Remember the 06 "ONLY" had a 50000 mile warranty, anyway had to pay the 8 bills about 2 years ago on a new radiator and since then the temp gauge shows running slightly hot but GM say thats the "NEW NORMAL" & then the temp is really normal...
Love the truck but the radiator crap really got my goat...Social Security Check only goes so far...

temp control
As I see it the thermostat has complete control over temp. it simply stays closed till the temp hits the setpoint. it can only get too hot if the radiator cannot get rid of the heat like in july,95.!
a tranny cooler cant drop the coolant temp since the tstat just stays closed till it get to the setpoint like in jan when its -15, still get nice heater heat!
