Best you can do is do what I did on another vehicle is first call GM Customer service, see what they say get address write letter saying common problem for that year etc...many failures docmented etc, and see if you can get some reinbusement. Makes it more difficult to get money back since you did not visit a GM dealer to fix.

I took my 2006 H3 Hummer into the dealer to replace the APP due to intermittent Traction/Reduced Power errors over the past 3 years, and the dealer advised me that my radiator was cracked. It has an 8 inch crack in the plastic housing in the same location of my radiator (top plastic houseing right side). The dealer never mentioned anything about this being an issue, but this blog has enlighted me. I cleaned the surface and epoxied over the crack to hold me until I argue this issue with GM.

Default epoxy can be cured

and you can make a long term fix by adding another layer of the goo and embedding some screen wire mesh in it,maybe one more layer later. i did it on a probe and it was good YEARS later when sold.

epox alone will crak. oh fiberglass mesh is good 2.

Yeah, thats what I did too. Lasted all of a day before leaking past the repair. Best bet is to drive it until you are fed up with the leak and refilling the tank. Then have it replaced. It will drive just fine dripping a little fluid for now.

06 H3 auto only 38k
no extended & in 06 it was only 5y/50k
I'll get with dealer tomorrow & post again.
As a mechanical engineer, this is a design flaw.
Exact same top cracks as pictured in prior posts.

I just traded my H3 for a H3T and I had to replace my radiator in the H3 also. Dealer charged me $800. Sounds like GM needs to step up to the plate on this one.

GM failed to address the cracked radiator issue. I ended up taking it to a local radiator shop that replaced the radiator and hoses for under $400 with aftermarket brand; less than 1/2 of the dealer's quote for OEM; which, quite frankly, is a piece of $%#&. The shop had to remove the grill to remove the radiator and the left front tire and wheel well cover to access the lower hose. I'm disgusted with GM over their failure to acknowledge and be culpable for their design flaw.
