I guessing the person you spoke to Friday did not know the H3 has a Pup Cat built into the Exhaust Manifold, but they later figured it out and now they are the wiser keeping your warranty $$.
My '07 manifold is still OEM factory install 08/2006. No cracks nor leaks after my Exhaust Manifold Stud Upgrade 10yrs ago.

Why don't they just put a threaded stud into the head and use nuts to attach manifold?
