Default Newbie 06 H3 with blown engine

Jumped in full go. Not surprising if you know me.

Facts:
Got a great deal (I think) on 2006 H3 with 130k miles;
- Interior like new;
- Blown engine;
- Bought a 64k mile used engine from sw engines (3 year 36k mile warranty) i'm installing now;

- installing new exhaust manifold (small crack);
-new timing chain and gears (not really needed but why not since it had 130k on it ???);
- peeling chrome on 16" tires (Ohio weather i guess??)
- Should I use Mobile 1 oil??? Synthetic???
- Corroded gas cap door too ughhh. whole thing

Also---what else am I in for with a used 3.5 engine with 64k ?
Go the car all apart now?
What would you do if you were me ?

Your help and experience are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. MC

Drain EVERY fluid and replace with high quality fluids. Trans, brakes, diffs, Tcase, steering, coolant, etc.

I run Mobil1 synthetic in everything I own. It's your choice.

Thanks Tainter.Mobile 1 synthetic it is.
SW Engines said I have to change the oil at 1000 miles, then a normal schedule
whatever that is 3k miles I guess to keep the warranty.
Am I ok with the 3.5 engine or will I regret this?
Any other mechanical fixes or "preventative maintenance" I should do.
It's got 130k with this used 64k engine. thx for your time. MC

Transmission Fluid= Dex 6

Diffs= 75W90 Full synthetic with LS additive Mobile 1

Tcase= I'll let someone else answer because I've seen plenty of arguements on this.

Steering= Haven't touched mine.. No issues whatsoever with mine so why
mess with it.

Coolant= Stick with DexCool. Switching from that to the green can cause sludge and buildup.

I have a 2006 Adventure/Luxury model with 74k miles. The scary stories about this year are accurate.. I've encountered most of them. O-H...

Look in the glove box and see if there is an OWNER'S MANUAL in there. If not, then go on line for it (they are all posted free), you need to read that.

Might want to look at what the GM OLMS is.

If you bought a 64K used motor, explain why you are changing the timing chain & gears??? Maybe I don't understand what you bought. Did you buy the complete motor, or a short block?

140k miles/Old gears were rough. I own the shop so I put a new chain on too.

Engine replacement update:
All went well except my mechanic used old exhaust manifold bolts and the upper bolt near firewall broke. Trying to figure out why A/C isnt working as well.
