Default MPG drop after leveling?

I've been thinking a lot about it lately. Does bringing up the front to end the forward lean reduce the drag? Or does the more direct face catch more drag? But then I was thinking the engineers did everything they could to improve gas mileage on the H3, so I figured the rake must save fuel. Or is it because with a heavy trailer, a leveled H3 now leans back?

Though, it is a simple question that can be answered from those that have leveled and measured their average mpg.

One of HUMMER's greatest mysteries; WHY the factory raking?

But no leveling it wont do squat to mileage.

There have been a number of other folks on here that have stated leveling has negatively impacted the MPG. Leveling will produce more resistance/drag.

Really? I haven't heard that one. I document my HUMMER's mileage well, and will be going on a 2000 mile round trip starting tomorrow so I will report back to let you guys know if any change in mileage.

Only downside is, I might be carrying 4 adults, 1 child, and the rear filled with cargo. So that might also show negative gas mileage. I guess we'll have to see.

From what I've read, that's exactly why Hummer lowered the front, to help with MPG. I figure though with adding an AIRDOC intake, catback exhaust and pcm tune I at least counteracted the negative mpg hit by leveling it. Unless you're driving a long way to and from work everyday, I don't think you'd even notice the drop in mpg.

The airdoc is manufactured more for power increase than mpg; but I'm almost positive you'd see an mpg increase. I'm ordering one in the next week or so, so I will keep track of mileage for everybody.

As far as hearing of HUMMER doing the raked stance for mileage, I'm doubtful. Thats probably a rumor. F5stop, who was an engineer for HUMMER, has no idea why they wanted it like that. So I'm thinking it wasn't for mileage.

I used to like the drop in the front but since I leveled mine I don't like the rake when I see it on other 3's. As for affecting mpg, I added a Predator BG last year so I'm pretty sure any mod I could do won't help my mpg's any at this point.
