Default Loose ride

Hi All,

I was hoping someone could give some advice/insight. I own an 07 H3 (w/ adventure package) with 145,000 miles. Its pretty much stock except for the shocks. I have been noticing that my h3 feels loose when driving it. Obviously with that many miles, it ain't a virgin by any means, but the thing feels like I am driving a lumber wagon.

About 6k miles ago, I upgraded my shocks from stock adventure to Bilstein 5100's hoping it would help stiffen the ride and make it feel more solid like it did when it was newer, but didnt help much It dives pretty bad when braking, and if going over a bump or turning into a driveway, it rocks back and forth pretty bad. There isnt any "play" necessarily in the steering, but it does also feel loose. My Dad has a 2010 and it rides and steers much tighter, so I know something isnt right.

Any thoughts are definitely appreciated! Thanks!

New leaf spring bushings, upper and lower control arms/bushings, steering rack mount upgrade kit. All the usual suspects.

Add the ball joints to rsc's upper control arm suspect.

Thanks- Exactly what I was suspecting. Doesn't sound like it is going to be cheap to take care of it...

Yeah, I checked the sway bars and bushings--seemed pretty tight, plus I'm not sure how I could have blown that the sway bars. I rarely offroad it. I live in Los Angeles so it sees a lot of hiway.

All the slosh is seemingly coming from the front end- I wouldnt be surprised if the ball joints and control arms/ bushings are worn, after all, it does have 145k on it.

Hmm my h3 alpha has 160,000 miles and when I go over a over pass it rocks left and right. It gets kinda scary at 70 mph I have already upgraded my steering rack bushings. And the front diff bushings,

I replaced my shocks about 10k miles ago with Bilstein 5100's and recently replaced the sway bar bushings and end links and it helped tremendously. I'm saving up to replace upper and lower control arms. If I were you, I'd replace the sway bar bushings and links, upper and lower control arms/bushings, and upgrade/replace shocks. Also check your leaf spring bushings as well.
