Jet Performance Module
#11
I like the idea of the Jet Module as well. I don't want to have the dealership reflash my PCM to reset a trouble light, and then be out the $200 for the PCM For Less. My problem is, I don't know if I should go with the Stage 1 or Stage 2? I DO have the Magnaflow Cat-Backs, Air Doc, and K&N, but if I understand correctly, you also need a 180 degree thermostat, and must burn 91 octane fuel for the Stage 2. Any thoughts?

Didn't it work for you? Did you find something better?

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Jet for my Alpha, so I contacted them directly and spoke to a tech. He said I could expect about 15hp. and 17ft.lbs. torque more. When I asked about increased mpg. he said not going to happen. I said that it seemed to me that, increasing the efficiency of the engine should equate into better mileage. He responded that, the way they get the increase in hp and torque, is to advance the timing, and increase the injector pulse duration. Bottom line: more fuel is used and mpg go DOWN!
Oh well....back to PCM for less.

If I had an alpha, I wouldn't do a jet or a PCM. I would go with a hand held programmer such as superchips. As far as gas milage, I've only had the jet for 3 days. If it's worse then it's because I'm taking advantage of the added power and acceleration.
