Default How To Remove Dash Panel Below Steering Column

I'd like to connect a brake controller to the factory installed trailer brake control wiring under the dash in my 08 H3. I can see the wiring exactly where the owners manual says (to the right of the steering column attached to the courtesy light). However, I can't readily get to it.

Can anyone advise how to remove the dash panel located below the steering wheel to gain access to the trailer harness wiring connections?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The knee bolster?
4 clips hold it in, remove outer panel, remove hood release handle screws, parking brake handle and pry/pull outward.

All instructions found here:

I need to remove the lower dash panel knee bolster on my 08 H3. I'm unable to access the pdf. Does anyone have a copy?

HUMMER Forums has memberships? Do you get a free bowl of soup with that membership?

Outer panel:
side dash cover(#29 pull that off), 1 bolt behind the side cover (#23), 2 screws holding the hood release, remove parking brake release pull, spin the parking brake release cable until it pops out of the corresponding holes. pull the Outer panel #22 toward the driver seat (4 clips).

Inner structure
6 bolts #1, 2 screws holding the hood release, 1 clip for the OBDII plug.

Default Bcm

Im having a hard time locating the BCM. Its not where most people have said to look. Any ideas? I have read it could be behind the instrument cluster. What is best way to get there?

Please avoid digging up OLD Threads to tack on the end of and ask a question. Here, not only did you do that, your question is not even related to the topic.

BCM for every H3/H3T behind the passenger side interior kick panel.
