H3 Engine light PO455 EVAP help needed!

PO455 is the vent valve sticking open
my experience with the code po455 was a Vent Valve Leak detected by the valve "sticking" open, it is located in the rear next to the EVAP canister part of the emissions control. it is rare a gas cap is the problem.

I have an 06 H3 in Northern CA (Bay Area). I tried to get it smogged and it was throwing the P0128 OBDII code. Had my thermostat replaced as people suggested and it went away.
I took it back to get smogged and he couldn't continue as it was showing EVAP but without a code. He said to drive it and come back and the computer should clear itself. I went back after a couple hundred miles and it was still showing EVAP.
Any ideas?

On the 455 code. Replace the vent valve selinoid and vent valve and hoses. That should pretty much clear it up.

$93 for the vent valve solenoid?????? Is there anyway to bypass this thing. What does it do anyway?
Make that $143 from the local Orielys. Looks Like I will be taking this thing apart and trouble shooting it.
There must be a way to trick the computer into thinking this thing is working!!

Stuck open, you can get a p0455 (large leak, when not refueling), stuck closed, you can get a p0449 and you will have problem refueling.
Just buy the valve and reuse the tube to save yourself some money.
There are alot of diy posts on this forum. (search p0449, vent valve, p0455, etc...)
Pull the canister (vent valve mounted on the side) and take it to your bench, heat the tube with warm water or a heat gun to remove the valve, from the tube, and reinstall the same.. GL
FYI, DON'T get this valve confused with the purge valve.
BTW, the canister sends those vapors back to the engine to improve fuel economy.
