Default H3 Blown Fuse 34 - Help Needed

Hey Guys,

New to the site, looking for some help w/my rig (H3).

My transmission fuse (10A fuse #34 in the fuse box) keeps blowing. Sometimes check engine comes on with P0700 nothing else. Replace the fuse and all good. Dealer cannot seem to figure out why. Wondering if there is a short and where to look/how to diagnose.

With fuse blown, rig has prob switching gears. 10 cents later with a new fuse it is all good.

Appreciate the help!

Year and Miles?????

Are you still using the crappy azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors?

Check the wiring to the Trans for rubbing on something, cracks or frays, etc....

Transfer Case (switches 4WD to Lock) has nothing to do with the Trans.

One of the causes of a P0700 is a short in transmission control wiring.

How is the Trans fluid level and quality? When was the last time the Trans fluid and filter were changed?

Only a P0700? & Blown #34.As Doc stated, shorted wiring. Check the wiring to the transmission & tcm, could also be a pinched wire inside the pan. Take a close look at the wiring and make sure no aftermarket wiring tapped into that harness. Could also be a short inside the tcm. Btw, I've never seen a P0700 without other codes included.

08+ wiring diagram attached.

And the problem started after the fluid change, right? Consider what Hummerz said about wiring inside the pan. The only way to look inside the pan is to drop it, however easy you consider that to be.

That is because you are still trying to use the OEM Battery Terminal Connectors. Take a search around here and you will see that that the first mod to do to every H3/H3T is to replace the crappy OEM Battery Terminal Connectors with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand.

Go back to the shop that did the tranny change and do a reboot. Watch them, see if they pinched a wire when they changed the filter and fluids....

Good luck!

That is the Transmission which bolts to the rear of the engine that has an inspection cover. I would guess you have seepage at the rear main seal (a small leak).

Wow, I finally figured out what the blue thing is (oil filter). You must a V8. That picture threw me for a loop - doesn't look anything like my L5!

There is a TSB for a Rear Main Seal leak on the 2010 Alphas. I had mine repaired under Factory Warranty.
