Default Gmos 04,,yikes!!

SCARY! hey im a radio guy, been sniffing solder fumes and messing with radios b4 ford made overhead valve v8s!

never in my wildest dreams would i even think that an interface would be so complex and so messy!!
with just the absolute bare minimum of scanty hints about the product, they told how to hook it up. i have a 12 pin conn and a sheilded wire stereo plug hanging free with no info on what they are. could it be an ext audio input??,,the 12 pin conn??

the pix, open at risk of fright!,shows the mess.
the blk conn on right plugs into my radio.
the blue scosche box takes speaker audio to rca conn at a useable level. that a leftover from another time. i hate doing thet but its the only way that radio has front/ rear output. can you believe the electronics inside the box so you keep your bells and on*!!! wild

ill test,,tomorrow,,yikes!

I have a GMOS-04 in my H2 along with a ASWC module to retain the steering wheel controls. I had a GMOS-01 in my H3. I found both units fairly straight forward and easy to hookup.

AXXESS also has excellent telephone support. Call them if you're having difficulty. You shouldn't need that SCOSCHE box. What factory stereo did your H3 have?

im just wondering about the unexplained leftover wires! the blue box gives me rca jacks and handles speaker output termination to some degree. very lo power parts inside it. the radio has frt/rr speaker wires and just l/r line out so i wouldnt have fader control wo using spk.
so ill pull stuff apart tomorrow.
i also wanted to show pix since i just got the gmos and never saw pix of it here.
i said complex because of the "hundreds" of hi tech parts in the box!?? the wires are pretty much same same.

I miss the old days when the only wires were red yellow black and a couple speaker wires and you were good to go.

This is what mine looked like for my H2 w/ factory Premium Bose.

The wiring was straight forward - the worst part was cramming everything into the dash; there is less room in the H2 dash than the H3!

Default Gmos-4 and aswc-1

Ok, so I just finished my pre wire on my H2 SUT and finally think I figured this mess out. Pulled the stock radio and installing a Kenwood 6906S. On my year make model i had to tape off three wires [ green, orange/green, white with green on aswc1, then the orange from the main on GMOS4. Then connecting to my radio the orange/white is redundant coming off gmos4 as is the 3.5 mm Jack. The 3.5 mm jack is for SWC direct on head unit if it had it. Which would make the orange/white from the H2 wire redundant. So to be a little clearer the orange/white wires on both harnesses and the 3.5 mm plug are all for steering wheel control. Only one needs wired(or plugged in to the 3.5mm swc on head unit). Hope it helps.

Default Pics before soldering. Forgot to add.

To head unit orange/white not needed. Antenna control not needed.

Main orange from grey plugs nipped.
if I need to do any adjustments as I have onstar and that bose amp for rears I will let you all know.

MMMM, Mmmm... nothing like digging up 7 year old posts for dinner.

Not to mention posting H2 stuff in an H3 section thread.
