Engine Temperature
I got a P1208 code and took it to the shop a few days ago and got a new thermostat put in. Since i got it back the engine temperature has been between 3/4 and 1/2, where before it didnt seem to run this high. Is it normal for the temp to be that high? Or is there something I can check? Thanks

You can search overheating, temp at 3/4, running hot.... for lots of threads on this.
From one of my prior posts: "You will find that the OEM temp gauge is nothing more than an idiot light with a needle. Your pic (over half, less than 3/4) is completely normal for a hot day, looks about like mine yesterday when we hit 100. I would not bother with flushing or changing coolant. Relax and enjoy the ride.
215F is no concern. Overheat protection doesn't kick in until 245F. The 3 will first shut off the A/C if it was on and display "AC OFF" in the DIC; then if temp still rises, display "ENG HOT" in the DIC and chime; then if temp does not fall, go into reduced power, all before reaching an actual overheat situation at 260F +.
To see what your actual temp is you need a scanner, or something like a Scan Gauge II.

Temp gauge
Mine runs close to 3/4 on a really hot day, most of the time slightly over 1/2. Since i broke 50k miles the gauge reads higher than it use to but that is still not overheating. If your truck checks out then all is well. My truck is empty when my gas gauge says 1/4 so that gauge is not accurate.

I had the same code and had the thermostat changed, mine runs at 1/2 and batween 1/2 and 3/4 on hot days with the ac on, so like the others have said here not to worry.
I don't know what problems it would have created leaving it running cool, if anyone knows please share, everything seemed to operate fine but here in MD it wont pass emmissions with an active code, so it had to be changed.

If you run u engine cold the cylinders bores crystalize and u would have blue smoke it takes time but you engine is no goin to last like it suppose thats why u need the termostat. Is a good idea to warm u engine before u drive .
