Well...got the scoop Monday. First off, as I suspected, I was randomly picked for the 5.3L engine and not the HUMMER. They asked a bunch of questions like, did I modify the exhaust, was it ever in a major accident, was any major engine work done, did I ever use it for racing, did it have a trailer hitch and a couple others I can't remember. I asked about the loaner and she said they had SUV's so I could get a comparable vehicle to which I reminded her of Hummer's slogan "Like Nothing Else". She said they could need it for up to 3 Weeks, and I STILL only got $150! So now it could be a $7.14 a day rental! She said she would give the information to GM, and if I was selected they would contact me. I asked when they needed to conduct this test she said sometime this year or maybe next year.

milford proving ground is a locked facility...only gm people get in there and only if there is a valid business purpose....yes, I am saying this is probably very real...but GET THE KEYS FOR THE NEW VEHICLE FIRST! hahahaha.....

Yeah, I think you'll do ok for this.....and yes, ask for some data back, the geeks will get it to you if it's in their power.

Thumbs up

Sounds legit.

In June at the St. Ignace, MI car show I was talking with a couple of engineers in the Chevy/GM display area. We talked about 20 minutes before they asked if I had a vehicle at the show. Luckily, our H3 was parked in a lot adjacent to their location. When I told them we had a supercharged H3 they told some of their co-workers they'd be gone for a few minutes. They looked it over fairly thoroughly, though they didn't drive it out of the parking lot. They agreed everything we've done was top notch and told me they'd love to have it in Milford for a day. At the time I thought they were kidding.......now I think they were pretty honest.

Keep us informed, please!!

BTW, I was just in Rochester Hills today----wife had kidney stones removed at Crittenton Hospital.

Wish I had known that.....I'm only 2 miles from Crittenton. I would have loved to have seen your 3!

We're planning to have it at AutoRama in Detroit this winter. Don't currently have anything else planned that far south. If the wife has to go to Crittenton again I'll surely let you know.

If u have even one ounce of brains in your head u should get rid of this vehicle and never buy a GM product ever. the company support group is a bunch of foreigners that dont give a rats *** about u me or this country. Give u the runaround and dont suppoort their products that fail on a regular basis.

As for the testing, I'd say you're probably out, but if you're in, see if you can hang with them for a day, sounds like a blast!!
