Question Any opinions on DayStar Winch Hook Isolator?

I'm looking at the DayStar winch hook isolator for securing the winch hook into the rollers on the fairlead. Just wondering if anyone here has used this or has an opinion to share about this product.

Truck Accessories and Jeep Accessories By Central 4 Wheel Drive - Daystar Winch Isolator - Black

Thanks in advance.

U can actually use a synthetic white cutting board cut to size and drill a whole to pass cable thru.

I like mine. Bit of a drag to pull the cable eye back out through the fairlead.... you have to slack the cable and then pull it straight out.... which when I do it results in my practicing a few select four letter words.

It helps keep crap off the winch from the front of the BA bumper, and is used to weight the cable during a pull.

I like the nice clean look of your set-up Doc. Two questions:

1) Does the hook stay in place in the isolator when going down the road?

2) I think they fit most roller fairleads.....I have a Warn so I think it will work fine, correct?

Thanks again.

Absolutely yes and yes.

Once you feed in the cable all the way, you tap the in switch to get it nice and snug it does not ever rattle and the hook stays put. When you first start using it, the hook may not like the full 90 degree position within its recess, but after a while the eye and hook kind of get used to it. You may have to mess with it a bit the first couple weeks, then it is all a no brainer.

Most fairleads are very similar in dimensions, and the DS Isolator is pretty flexible so it will form fit.
