Hummer H3 For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.

Is that air resonator restrictive?

yep,ive had tachs in cars for a while.
the point is,at 4600,you aint gettin any mpg increase, and at 2000, no hp.
10 hp at 4600 is lost with the automatic increase at that rpm in a lower gear.
i hop they arent going 4600 in 4/od!! abt 137.8 mph!!

would the dyno 10 hpm increase at 4600 be in od?

and my forever question, where is the mpg chart.
give me 2mpg at 2000 and ill send my check!! (no warr voided)

This is the classic example of why Dyno #s are useless for the average guy.
All hung up on Peak HP.

Peak number focusitis is what I call it.

I simply posted one run to demonstrate 2HP per cylinder (which is better than many V8s), with a SAE 5 chart. Even then you can still see a we bit of what the torque is doing.

TQ is what moves you, 3s and 4s break that out for what I am looking at.

I've got loads of Mustang sheets too, they get more fun.

Hey Dr. Tom.. I was not sure if I wanted to put one on. I got the Air Doc and my truck actually ran a little crappy at first, but once the computer or whatever got used to the change it actually runs really good now.. And yes, I do have alot more get up and go especially between 25-65... a very noticeable difference.. Maybe you just got a lemon engine. And I am saying that in a nice way....

Oh yeah, I forgot to add to one of your points.. Did I gain any increase in mpg? Actually I get the same pretty much.... BUT... I am into the gas alot more, with more get up and go, and still get the same mpg.. I kinda like that.. Good job Doc.

[QUOTEa lemon engine.][/quote]???

no,,,?i think its fine as is. i push the gas and go faster, I HAVE NEVER FLOORED THIS THING! no need to.
in normal driving, passing rarely, it has plenty.
how many times do you need to floor a car? think about it.
and yes i do 75-90 on the big road.

later;
I do have alot more get up and go especially between 25-65
i wonder if the same would happen in a stock h3 with more pedal push, which is the effect of more air flow. if you get more air with a given pedal position, the ecu must adjust the fuel ratio so you feel more power. its the same as pushing the pedal more in a stock h3.
the ecu monitors air mass, air temp, and two o2 sensors to keep things in balance.

or do you get free mpg/power, just by burning more air?,,,!!!

Actually I am very **** when it comes to noticing things, kinda critical to a point actually. But when you nail it there is a difference. I had taken it off when the temperature warmed up to see if my mpg would change due to it not being in the 30-40's all the time, plus I stomped on it a few times after I changed it. I kept it off for 2 tanks just to see.. Is it a huge difference in get up and go? Not huge no, but does help. My mpg is the same though. But that is all I have done.. No tune or anything else.
