07' H3 LH window, door locks inop--tried the tricks-no luck. Please help
Hi guys,
My parents have a 07' H3. Last year, I installed a backup camera in it and while doing so, the battery died. I jumped it off and with help from this site, I found out about touching the 2 battery ends together to make the driver window (other 3 windows work fine) and power door locks work again.
Last week, the battery died again after the truck sat up unused for several days. My dad jumped it off using a battery charger and had the battery replaced. The windows and locks quit working again. I now live in FL, so I'm trying to help my dad get it fixed over the phone. I have had him do the touching the battery ends together, wait 5 mins and reconnect them, but thats not working. He has also disconnected the battery completely for 45-60 mins a couple times, reconnected it, but still no driver power windows or door locks.
A independent repair shop and Advance Auto both told him the alternator is overcharging, if that could play a roll in this.
My dad said the owner's manual mentions a module that controls the driver window and door locks, but I'm not sure what module he is talking about. The independent shop wants to replace this module, but I haven't seen this module mentioned in the threads I've read about this issue.
I do not trust their local Chevy dealership (honesty wise, overcharging or being competent enough to fix anything).
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
