Well i will start this thread as I am a newbie...I bought my wife the car of her dreams about a year ago( 2003 h2) and now its dead in the water.. She doesnt drive it much as its her weEkend ride ..WE PULLED IT OUT OF THE GARAGE 2 WEEKS AGO AND THATS ALL SHE WROTE..I pulled it out shut the garage and she died..I started it back and it ran for about 5 seconds and it died again.. So out my first idea was no fuel delivery..So i checked the fuel pump relay and it was good.. checked the fuel pump fuse good..I got my wife out had her turn the key to the on position and no fuel pump hummmm..So dropped the tire shield in the left rear ..checked the fuel pump HAD A STRONG LIGHT on my tester so bad fuel pump i was hoping..So we spent the day dropping the tank and rebuilt the fuel pump module, new strainers, fuel filter and a new delphi fuel pump.. Got her back in and run like she should for the day..

Now for the good part..She pulled it out of the garage next weekend and she said it was hard to start.. I was confused?? New fuel pump..new fuel filter??? How could this be.. I got in it..it was sluggish like no fuel again.. But if i turn the key to the on position 3 times and then off..the 4th time it fired right up... So my last resort i thought maybe fuel pressure regulator??? So I was going to drive it so off we went..Got down the road...MY WIFES H2 DEAD ON THE ROAD WITH THE WHOLOE FAMILY IN IT!!!

I need your guys help??? The h2 is a 03 with 72k miles.. It will turn over but will not start??? Maybe another bad fuel pump?? I hope not..I just filled her up with!!! Any help will be THANKED IN ADVANCE!!!!IM LOST!!! PLEASE HELP

 

I kinda had the same thing happen to my 04 h2. I thought it was the fule because it would start up and run a bit , but it would start to sputter. Id all the cleaning that you did! Turns out...$1200 later it was a blown gasket.

 

I did check the oil pressure as we were pulling off bc thats what I thought being hard to start. When i got it started at the gas station i glanced down and it was holding right at 40lbs of pressure at idle with air blowin at max.. So I guess i will try to tear into it this weekend.. Does anybody else have any help???

Will the anti-theft have anything to do with it??? I heard the 03's had alot of trouble with electrical??Nothing on her h2 is aftermarket except a rear view camera..

 

Sounds like the problem I just had. It turned out to be a plugged fuel filter and a weak fuel pump. I had a full tune up and had both the pump assembly and filter changed. The total cost was $1200.00 plus change.

Have a shop check the fuel pump and fuel filter.
