Default whats brighter? a led headlight bulb or a hid kit?

whats brighter? a led headlight bulb or a 55w hid kit?

hey guys after 10 years of use my 35w HID kit died, and i started to notice alot of people do led projector lights and stuff but i dont want to do that much work to my truck. I can get a decent quality 55w hid kit for like $100. I only really care about brightness. i can also get led 9007 headlight bulbs for like $50-70 ish, so in this case what will be brighter? for the hid i like 5000k light.
i dont really want to spend more then $100 so i am just asking between these two options nor do i want to cut the headlamp etc

a simple google search seems to say hid but then some led lights say they have 10 000 lumens and stuff and that it really depends on the headlight assembly

any one have real world experience with our h2's

thx

Bronx,

aren’t your stock headlight lenses fogged over by now?

I had pretty much decided on just buying some cheap projectors since the stock headlight housings are fogged up.

I would say a good Sylvania type bulb is better than the HID conversion. Our housings are not meant to disperse HID light so while HID might appear brighter, its probably not as usable if that makes sense.

As someone else mentioned, once the plastic gets hazed and yellowed, nothing will be bright enough. I purchased some LED units from Cyron and could not be happier but its a lot more than your $100 budget.

I have LED bulbs similar to Bronxteck but they are KATANA (9007) brand and not HIKARI. They have worked well and I'm still using the original housings, been running them for a year with no issues
