Did the rear diff today. That bar that runs in front of it is a PITA, since it has to be removed.

I hope the front is easier!

You don't need to pull the cover, there is both a drain plug and a fill plug. FYI for the future.

I noticed that after!

The gasket looked in good condition, but I wasn't sure if there had been any maintenance done before hand, so I figured I'd pull it.
I still have the gasket, but I used RTV gasket sealer because the old one was dirty & I didn't feel like cleaning it. I'll save it for a rainy day.

I'm guessing the front is the same.

You are correct. Having drain plugs makes things so much easier. Other vehicles I've owned you have to pop the cover to drain the old oil adding to the frustration if the gasket it bad or whatever may happen taking the cover off.

Replaced knock sensors, harness and intake gaskets. All ac delco parts except for steel gel pro intake gaskets.

Greased all my zerk fittings up front. Inspected steering components, ball joints etc.

Found a sheered off bolt on my tranny skid plate. Drilled out and replaced.

Thanks to synthetic killer. I too need front bumpstops. Hole right through the passenger side. Never would have even thought they would be making contact unless suspension was compressed.

Found what i thought to be a heat shield rattle. Is really the catalytic converter. Something is loose inside. been driving me nuts for almost 2 yrs.

I personally change all my fluids when I do an oil change. I offroad alot so by the time I need an oil change, all my fluids need changing.

Ended up doing oil, front diff, rear diff, and transfer case. I didn't do my transmission cuz I just had my transmission replaced so it's new fluid.

My transfer case fluid was the worst. It was probably 40-50% mud. After I changed it the hummer ran so much smoother. It also fixed the issue with my red neutral light popping up sometimes.

By the way, if you put some extra additional fog lights, so how much more pressure is on your alternator and battery right now and how is that on the long run?
