Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Upgrading my regular LUX radio with OEM nav radio.

I know the majority would say that upgrading to an aftermarket radio is better, but I like to keep my vehicles as stock as possible.
Since I have the LUX Bose system Y91, I ordered the BOSE Radio CD Player OEM 10377531, an antenna, and a map DVD.
The radio came out of GMC truck according to the seller, but research shows that it fits the LUX hummer H2.
I know it needs a VIN unlock at the dealer, but is there anything else I need to know ?
Another seller that has one for 120 dollars more tells me that it needs a special programming to work in a Hummer. I don't know if he's pulling my leg so that I buy his radio instead,
but I am not aware of anything special other than VIN unlock to make it work.
All this equipment is on the way, but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this. I know that the 2005 already has the VSS wire in the harness, which is a plus.

Thanks.

not sure about the hummer BUT;

I had a 03 denali that had the lux BOSS system radio but no nav, I purchased the nav unit and had the dealer install it with a factory antenna.

I think if it was an option for that year of truck then GM has the calibration to make it work. With a tech2 and a pass to the GM site you should be able to do it.

With my denali I needed a nav unit from an 03 to 06 truck.

I just found that mine as all the 05, 06, and 07 H2 have the UQA premium sound system RPO code . So although mine has the Y91 RPO lux code, it does not have the LUX amplifier. LUX amps were not an option on 05-07 H2s.
So the radio I bought will not work. It can be converted, but it's an extra expense to ship off and have it reprogrammed from a 15800001 to a 15800000.
The seller was gracious enough to tell me to ship it back once I received it for a full refund ( minus shipping) , and I bought a very nice 15800000 at a $100 cheaper price. This should be plug and play of course after theft unlock.
So the other seller was correct, but what he would have done was basically converted his radio from digital to analog and still sold it to me from $420. He knew that all 05 hummers had an analog amp.

You are correct. I have the LUX package on my 06, bought the LUX in dash navigation touch screen only to blow $100 at the dealer for them to VIN match it and find out it didn't work. Luckily another member here did the exact opposite and we swapped nav radios and everything worked perfectly.

Long story short, you answered your own question lol. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier.

I have the 05 H2 and just bought the Nav radio for it, I am missing the single green connector but are yall saying it's in the harness?

The single green connector is the antenna, it is not there, you need to add the antenna

ok, then just buy the Antenna hook it up, get it unlocked and it should work fine? I know I am probably asking some dumb questions. I pulled it out back out and was going to send the radio back to LKQ.

from my experience the 6 disk radio sounds better than the nav radio. i did test the nav radio and the sound was lower and less base. all you need access to is a tech2 scanner to unlock the nav unit
