Default TECH 2 Stopped working

This is a long shot, but sadly my Tech 2 died (see picture) I suspect something has spiked the electronics.

Of course this is right-up my street, but there is so little info on the circuitry.

I've already changed the RTC chip which elimiated line 008 but then added line 009 CLKMEM Fail (may be related)

Where the ERAM resides I'm not too sure.

Would anyone have a TECH 2 circuit diagram?

Of course I'm lost without it..

ALL the same inside, contact them, for more info on your issue, maybe they will offer repair advice, or send you a diagram?

i had re-soldered some cold looking joints in my tech 2 a while back after putting it back together i started to get similar error messages. after going through it again i had a tiny solder ball bridge in the removable VCI module on the bottom. idk what you have already gone through but look for cold solder joints and bridges where ever you have already touched up mine is the china vetronix. i believe the dc-dc regulator that the real tech 2 uses is a VRB1205LD 15W DC-DC Converter isolated single output DIP as opposed to the little daughter board thats used in the knockoff. some say it fixes the reboot on key on issue when using only the OBD connector but then the tech 2 power switch does not turn the tech 2 off which really should not matter.

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

Sorry about the pictures, not that exciting really, see below:-

ERAM = External Ram?
RTC = Real Time Clock

Still investigating...

I've seen some post saying that going into the options page and resetting the clock can possibly fix the RTC (Real Time Clock) fail error and also apparently there is an internal battery that keeps the clock alive that could be bad.

have you put the card into a laptop pcmcia reader slot? most of the time laptops run in ata mode and supply more voltage than the tech 2 card can handle. the tech2 uses linear ram pcmcia cards.
i believe the PCMIA card in the tech 2 is the external ram.
does it boot without the card installed? try with the loopback connector installed.
you might also want to check the pcmcia pins and connector for looseness or bad solder.

check your PCMCIA pins and connector like Bronxteck mentioned . the RTC error has come and gone by itself on some of my past tech2s .
