Replacing fuel tank pressure sensor

Figured it out, super easy fix that took about 15 minutes.
All you need to do is remove the left rear plastic wheel well. Then you'll be able to see the sensor directly and get to it.
This requires "feel" and you'll need to reach in and remove the old sensor. It disconnected easily but had to use a plastic pry tool to remove the old one.
Then I put the new on in place by feel and connected it again by feel; you won't be able to see anything.

Many check engine codes will clear themselves after a certain number of trips without the error being present any longer that caused the code.... Not sure if this is one or not but it will not hurt to drive for a few days and see if it goes away on its own. If not some auto part stores will clear codes for free (some will only read them these days and refuse to clear them though).

Codes, don't clear, yet the warning light should go off when the proper repair is performed. The code will remain in history, until manually cleared.
Cause:
HUMMER DTC P0446
Cause:- The fuel tank vacuum is greater than -12 inches H2O vacuum for 5 seconds.
- OR
- The fuel tank pressure (FTP) is less than -2.5 inches H2O or more than +5 inches for 60 seconds after a cold start.

Yes codes DO clear on their own. Per the official GM Service Information System (pdf attached on P0446 for a 2005 H2).
"Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
• The control module turns OFF the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) after 3 consecutive ignition cycles that the diagnostic runs and does not fail.
• A current DTC, Last Test Failed, clears when the diagnostic runs and passes.
• A history DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles, if no failures are reported by this or any other emission related diagnostic.
• Clear the MIL and the DTC with a scan tool."
