I have a 2005 H2 6.0L and the starter is having difficulties turning the motor over and dims lights with cranking cycle which is slow. Installed a new Odyssey 1100CCA battery last week, it works better but still has a slow tough time. Im thinking a high torque starter but would like some recommendations. Thanks for your insight.

 

Starter might be worn and a simple OEM or rebuilt OE replacement would do.

Not sure where you live but if it is really cold, too thick of oil can make it turn over slower, I would also bet, it's the starter like you think it is, but I thought the temp. aspect was worth mentioning.

run amsoil full synthetic 5w30 for 10yrs, this is the second starter so im sure its cheap as I was in Moab and it went out and got whatever they had. I didn't know if going to a High torque/energy would help to add performance or just a upgrade?

 

First check/clean connections @battery & starter!

 

And Ground at motor block and battery terminal
