New 2007 H2
I bought my 2007 H2 with 8 miles on it. The engine blew at 245,000 miles. For a few years I have been looking to replace it as some things gave out. After it died about 8 months ago I bought a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I've had them in the past, but it's still not the same. After getting various prices to fix it right I am finally doing it. The one shop I am going with convinced me when he said 'you'll have the only brand new 2007 Hummer out there. I had it thoroughly inspected at several shops and they all agree the undercarriage is fine and pretty much rust free. What has rust will be grinded down and undercoater applied. So, for your reading pleasure here is what is being repaired and replaced.
I'll be happy to get it back on the road again.

normally an engine swap costs only about 750 to 900 in labour also why are they charging for an oil change? new motor wont have any. also most shops will waive or not even charge an inspection fee especially if they are going to do the work. also all the liquids they are separately charging for is usually covered under the materials fee. hopefully there warranty or reputation is worth all the extra cash they are overcharging.

Skip the oil cooler flush and opt for a new radiator.
Or do what I did and block off the oil cooler if you do not tow. The oil cooler lines should be replaced if you keep it.
All the parts should be OEM. AC Delco or Moog. If he is buying big box store chinese parts, they will not last.
I would drive down to your local Chevy or GMC dealer and get a quote on a new GM motor.
