Default Lost power steering and brakes. No leaks H2

Hello guys. I'm a newbie to this forum and recently I traded in my cl55 merc for a hummer h2. It's been great to me and theres so much I have learnt though I've only had it for about 6 months now. My plans for this vehicle is to mod it to what hummer would have looked like if they made a 2018/19 version.

Recently it snowed down here in Oshawa and I took it to a parking lot tried to slide around a bit had some fun then during my drive back I noticed the steering wheel felt heavy and eventually it got really hard. Stopping power also reduced alot. Checked the power steering as well as the hydroboost no leaks. I also made sure to replace all the old power steering fluids as well as ensures all fluids are flowing as they should. I cant figure out what seems to be the issue. Power steering pump seems to be fine. I feel like there's no vacuum or it's not sufficient enough for the system to work.

what would cause that loss of power to the system? Could it be a hose that got loose somehow? Any help would be much appreciated

Both systems work off the steering pump, if neither work start with the pump.

If the fluid looks clean and does not smell burnt then I would start with the pressure fitting at the pump.

Thank you. I will check this out and update.

changed the oil and it didnt have a burnt smell. I did add the lucas power steering fix thing yesterday. I'll check to see if this fixed anything again today.

appreciate it.

Bet you snapped the shaft clean inside the power steering unit. The pulley will still remain on the unit, and everything will appear to be good. Yank the belt and spin the pulley by hand...you'll know if its broke.

I did the same thing ****ing around in the snow. The combination of heavy brake and hard steering snaps those factory pump shafts like toothpicks. If that's the case, get a chromoly shaft to put back in it.
