Default Idiot sprays brake-clean on steering wheel badge…

Had my truck back at transmission shop, for shifter issue, went to get it and it was late and didn’t notice it….they said they cleaned it up after driving it thru some muddy road…truck was washed and vacuumed….needless to say they said, IDK who did that….

Anyone know where i can get a replacement badge for 2004 H2 ?

does anyone know how to remove the horn button wrap on steering wheel ?

did a whelen 100 watt pa speaker/horn installed today, just what I needed for theese inept drivers in Broward county…

definitely could hear the horn now, and talk on 100 W PA system….if they **** me off…lol

That was never available from GM as a separate part number, only as the entire airbag.....

I do have one of the prior style airbags in black I'd sell for probably $75. The original style had a molded in logo instead of a stuck on emblem.

There is an aftermarket badge on eBay for $40.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/294084874255

Or search Hummer H2 airbag. You can find both styles available for about $130.

Ouch - yeah that is melted to the point of being unrepairable. Cheapest option would be to grab one of those aftermarket ones and swap it out. The airbag is actually very easy to remove from the steering wheel. Couple of openings on the backside that you jam a flathead screwdriver into to push a couple of metal retainers away from the two metal posts to release it.

Please be extremely careful when removing the airbag. Be sure to disconnect the battery and even so, keep your face out of the line of fire when you do it.

Indeed disconnect the battery and proceed carefully as @Gavin Costigan has pointed out, remember there is an explosive charge inside !
