I've been getting the "Tighten Fuel Cap" message and while looking around I discover directly behind the fuel cover area a black wire with a metal ring connector that had corroded away.
Anybody know where this is supposed to connect?
I thought it might be a ground and just trucked it in against the frame but immediately afterward when I went to start I heard a loud pop under the hood and it wouldn't crank. Local shop replaced the starter but didn't do anything about the dangling wire. Now my car battery is dead every morning. Haven't had a chance to test anything yet but figure I should start with putting that wire back where it belongs.
