Question External Tire Carrier - A few questions

I have a 2005 H2 and moved my spare to an external carrier I bought off of Craigs List. It appears to be an OEM product. But I noticed there is a bolt hole without a corresponding hole & nut in the bumper (see attached image). Any of you guys have the same carrier and is there a bolt?

I have removed the internal tire carrier. But in doing so, I do not know where the tire jack gets stored. Where does it go?

The guy I bought the tire carrier from said there is a pigtail under the bumper for the light the license plate holder plugs into it. I cannot find it. Am I looking in the wrong place? Is there a better alternative than using the license place holder that is on the tire rack?

Just fitted the same.

I used the wiring instructions for another carrier for the liscense plate lamp.

in regards to the 3rd bolt. I lined it all up and drilled a hole and bolted through. Have the same issue with the jack but currently have not removed the internal carrier so this is not an issue.

@Vegaguy - I realize this thread is now about 11 years old, but I recently purchased an OEM external swing arm carrier for my 2005 H2 and have the same situation with the extra bolt hole on the passenger/hinge side of the carrier. My question is, did you have any stability issues with only 2 mounting bolts instead of 3?

I think you should add the third bolt, it would probably be OK with the two, but to be safe, and it will look better if you drill the hole.

Default Bolt Size

Hi guys,
im glad I found this forum. I literally had my 2008 H2 delivered yesterday. I too have the 3rd bolt question. However a bit different. I have the hole predrilled in my bumper. Does anyone know the bolt Size or GM part number for the bolt?
