Exhaust Question for 2006 Hummer H2
#11
Can you cut the 2 inlet pipes to weld to the walker 21431 and then use the walker 54795 tailpipe?
My existing factory inlet pipes are good, they should be able to be cut and welded as I see no rust on them..
I suppose muffler shop can extend or rework to make all the brackets line up...
Existing OEM muffler 28" vs the Walker at 24"
Just ordered both pieces- thanks for the heads up. Spoke with local installer to weld in new pieces.
Rock Auto both pieces shipped $180 +/-

Exhaust rusts from the inside out, old school way to test the pipes is use a pair of channel locks and squeeze the pipe to check strength. Cost for the complete cat back system from RA is $220.36 vs $139.58 for the muffler and tail pipe (+tax & shipping). DIY cat back and all new parts, or take it to a shop and pay labor for them to cut/weld muffler on and hang the tail pipe, then down the road if the inlet pipes rust out, you will have more labor to replace those.

Exhaust done & welded in As noted prior my incoming pipes to exhaust were fine so I replaced the muffler and tail pipe sections and welded them in. Looks great, if you are on the fence- the walker muffler & tailpipe fit fine and once welded look great.
