Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Ok This is crazy..L.O.L. I have the Dorman Unit here and was going to return it. Then while working on my 65 Vette in the garage and smoking my favorite stogy ... I got this weird Vib...... Something out of thin air not related to what I was doing on the vette came into my mind. Now after reading these posts I can see it was you guys sending me a message thru the indium of mental telepathy....

Something said... Hey..why don't you swap faceplates? So I dropped what I was doing and came inside and took the doorman unit apart. Below is the pic's the the complet faceplate. And as stated... only 4 torx screws and a little prying and bam. I have a replacement unit!

So I'm good to go !!!

Here's a Link to the specs of the Dorman 599-138..I'm sure someone could use the guts and use their own face plate. Just think now it's cheaper then new.

Thanks legerwn..

Yep I have all those spec to... I ran into them on the net. But I called my HUMMER H2 guy at the dealership who is the parts manager and he went into the super secret GM Parts computer and put my VIN in to make sure that I get the correct Part Number... That Number for my VIN is 20777074 . That is the part number with Mods for my VIN year. Anyway I'm done running around the net. Thanks for your research.

Physically they fit and plug in but some things might not work right like global windows (DDM), shift indicator (clusters).

I also came to realize that a Tech with TIS2000 cannot reprogram a 2003 DDM with the later software either (even trying to trick it with a later models VIN #).
Yeah I hear Yah MixMan..After talking with the tech at Dorman he splaned me...the whole deal about programing. That's why my parts manager guy at the old Hummer dealership went into the GM in House computer for dealers only and punched in my VIN. He was emphatic that I get the 27777074. Seems that something changed in my model VIN build that they went to that number aside for export to Canada.

Thanks Neal... According to Dorman.. It's a No No as far as the HUMMER goes. He said if could screw something up. My guess would be confusing the body computer.. BWTFDIK.

Anyway didn't want to take the chance and plug the unit in. Just easier to swap the front panel. Now I realize how nuts some of us HUMMER owners are.
I now have a $198.00 Front HVAC panel for my duce..LMAO.

Keep us posted if the Dorman thing works out,

I installed the stickers on mine right after I purchased it due to the module itself working fine just wanted the thing to look good

Yup and there were 10 available at that price when I posted. All sold, now only 1 available over $600.00
Put your old face plate on the dorman and list it on ebay noting you purchased for the face plate only.
Just Copy and paste the information from dorman website & Add a picture of the face plate and the picture of the back that is posted above.

Yeah Plan to Hummerz.

Only problem is Ebay changed there Valuation Plan. You use to be able to have them take your selling fee out of your PayPal account when money was put in. Now they want access to your Personal Bank account or checking. So I'll continue to buy on ebay but they ain't getting into my personal stuff. I could open a seperate checking account for ebay but the bank wants a minimum of $600.00 balance in there at all times or you get charged a fee each month.

How do you get around that?? Ideas?
