Thanks, I'll try it our, it doesn't shift too easily, it shifts ok (it used to make some noise when we first reassembled the car, but now it doesn't any more). Unfortunately, all I have are jacks and that isn't too safe to start the car on, but I will look into and see what can be done.

Appreciate the info.

Default Did you ever figure out the problem?

[QUOTE=Metallist;292818]We replaced the forks and the fork pads a while back because we thought that that may have been the issue, but it wasn't the case. Basically it pops out of H and into N. It usually pops out at about 55 mile per hour, which isnt a safe speed to shift into HL in.

I am having the same exact problem at 55mph. Was thinking of just getting a new transfer case but thought it can't be that bad because it still works in all gears but only pops out in h.

You can rebuild the transfer case for a lot less than buying a new one.

Yeah I was going to mention what the last guy just said.

If the truck has any sort of body lift 2" or more it'll throw the shifters out of whack. Someone makes a "z clip" or something [Thomas Cepek over on humvee net forums?] that makes the factory shifting rods link up with lift kits.
