Head and valve issue

RE: HEAD AND VALVE ISSUE
I agree..AsI said..they usually loan you a comparable car...So true you're making payment on yours while it sets in the dealer's back lot waiting on parts..So it's a wash leagally..But a plus to this is that, your car is
accruing zero miles as you beat the hell out of their loaner

I reseated the clutch connector, and I think it's only done that little deal once. I put fuel injector cleaner in today after a almost empty tank, and filled it with premium. I want to see if I maybe got a tank of bad gas. I just hope I dont get this. I already have 30k miles on mine! by the end of the year, I'll have over 40! The warranty is ticking away.

RE: HEAD AND VALVE ISSUE
I have looked throughout the other threads and could not find the error code that the engine produces. Yesterday I got the light and the code is P0106 which says "MAP/BARO CKT Range/Perf". In doing more research I found the full explanation which is "P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance"
I could have sworn this was the error code people got before and/or when the head and valve problem occured. Can anybody find it or tell me what the check engine OBDII code is that is a result of the head and valve problem? I have honestly looked through all the threads and I'm probably just missing it but I can't find it. Thanks!

RE: HEAD AND VALVE ISSUE
Hi everyone! Sad to say it, but I am glad to have found this forum. I have a 2006 H3 purchased in Miami back in October 2005. I currently have 85,438 miles on the baby! My truck is now sitting at aGM dealer for repair. I had the rough idle, engine light syndrome back around 45,000 miles, then at 60, 000 mile. Both times I took it to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle ( Williamson Hummer in Miami). Both times I was told I had an O2 sensor issue. Oddly, both times Onstar told me that I had a mis-firing cylinder. Maybe Onstar was tight? Now that my truck is way out of warranty (lucky me), and the engine light, loss of power around 1500-2500 rpm, and rough idle are back and more noticeable than ever...I took it to an independent shop. There they ran the diagnostic tool and told me that in "previous faults" category that there were listederrors attributed to mis fire of cylinder. Hmmm. The service guy at my trucks current location just called me and told me that it could be the O2 sensor (Im thinking not) or there is a possiblity that this could be a head/valve issue. My vin falls in the category...again lucky me. I am not sure what I am going to do, as I have a feeling replacing the item out of warranty is going to be costly. Lesson learned.
If anyone has some suggestions, Im all ears...oh and please spare me the "why didnt your purchase the extended warranty" comments...like I said, lesson learned

RE: HEAD AND VALVE ISSUE
Hi! I need help? I have H3 2006 with head valve issue but I am located in Serbia and I have no warranty here at dealer because my car was imported before they had a dealer here. What should I do can I somehow buy parts and get them shipped? Because I don’t even want to ask dealer here what would be the price for that because when I got my car in April I took it to service just so they change filters, oil, basic….. and they charged me for that $2000…when I got a car they check engine light was on so I asked hummer dealer when I took it to service what’s wrong and he tell me it’s because of fuel here not to worry the car had 25k km on it that time but now car has 35k km and problem is becoming noticeable..Should I just sell the car?? Which I don’t want to do because I love it and I think its great with amazing off road capabilities..

RE: HEAD AND VALVE ISSUE
52,300 miles. No extended warranty. Check Engine Light came on about 20 miles back and started to have the rough idling problem. Taking it to the dealership on Monday and I have a district specialist assigned to my case, whatever that means. It seems most people had this problem early on, before they had many miles on the vehicle. Has anyone dealt with the issue after the warranty was up? Any suggestions to get GM to cover the costs?

I'm looking to buy an 06, and I'm researching known issues.

RE: HEAD AND VALVE ISSUE
My 06 has about 68K miles and the engine light came on a few weeks ago. I took it in to get it diagnosed and they told me one of the valves was going. Of course it is out of warranty, and they want $2700 to fix it. After having a "discussion" with the service mgr he said he would speak to the district mgr and get back to me. About 2 wks later he called me and told me they would cover 33% of the cost.
On top of the valve issue, my wiper motor is going out, the chrome gas door wont stay closed, their is a weird rattling noise on the marker lights when speed gets up around 70 mph, and that is just the new list of problems.
I have yet to get it fixed, and they tell me worst case scenario... my fuel efficiency will go down.
After reading all the complaints as I suspected, my case is not isolated.

GM needs to do something!!! 2006 H3
I have been reading this forum and amazed that I am not the only one with this problem.
Just like the person above, I recently reached 52,451 and my check engine light came on and I called the dealership to make an appointment. The service department was honest with me right away. They said they have 15 H3's right now that are having the same issue. Rough idling and then the check engine light comes on. He then informed me that if this is the same problem, it will cost me $2,500.00 to fix it since I am out of warranty. They then proceeded to tell me GM has delayed sending out the parts needed for the repair. Right now luck has alot to do with it to even get the parts shipped to them from GM.
They have no loners for me because they have used them all up. I am just praying that it is something different. The more I read, the more I am convinced that I better get ready to hold onto my checkbook because it is going to have alot less in it come next week. That is, if they can even get the parts from GM
